Acclaimed composer and Mrudangam (South Indian percussion) artist Rajna Swaminathan’s roots run deep within the Indian music world and New York’s jazz scene. Termed “a vital new voice” by Pop Matters, and on the heels of her captivating new album Apertures, Rajna creates an improvisational evening that features an eclectic ensemble of musicians including the spellbinding vocals of Ganavya Doraiswamy with Utsav Lal (piano), Miles Okazaki (guitar), Darian Donovan Thomas (violin), Kalia Vandever (trombone) and Hannah Marks (bass).
